Warner/Kaine switcheroo?

Tim Kaine looks to me like the 3rd best potential VP choice from Virginia.  While I like the idea of picking someone from the state and the fact that he's been a governor rather than a  20-year Senator, it seems that he's had a lackluster term in the state and doesn't bring much to the ticket.

The best choice to me looks to be Mark Warner, but there is the big complication of forfeiting the Senate seat that it appears he will win in a walk.

My question for Virginians: What is the process for replacing a Senate nominee?  Is it possible to tab Warner for VP and have Kaine jump into the Senate race?  Kaine wouldn't win by the margin that Warner would, but Gilmore appears to be unpopular and the presidential ticket could probably drag him over the finish line.  Is it doable?

Wow, now that is a weird scenario?

But, I doubt it. If Warner has presidential ambitions, (and, watch me get hit over the head with a frying pan by CatFish et all) he would be the successful opposition candidate to Hillary in 2012 if Obama loses.

I think he has made it CRYSTAL clear, he's not on the VP train.

Plus, you can move the speaking schedule around a lot, but he is the Keynote-That is locked in.

Nope, interesting idea, but Warner is not the guy.

HRCVPOTUS (none / 0)

Yep, that's the one I'm hoping for. The overarching need for Dems right now is unity. McSame doesn't stand a chance against a unified Democratic party.

Re: Warner/Kaine switcheroo? (2.00 / 0)

I am totally hoping it is HRC.  But if Warner would say yes he would be my first pick.  He is very popular in VA and is maybe the most popular pol in the whole state.  If he was on the ticket BO/Warner would most definately win VA and that would be the election.  Kaine is not as well thought of.  I also wonder is the reason that Clarks is not schuduled to speak in Denver mean he is the pick and he is on to speak Wed night?
